Brandon Hunt Obituary, Accident – Tragedy struck in east Edmonton on Wednesday afternoon when a motorcyclist lost their life in a collision with a city bus, according to the Edmonton Police Service (EPS). The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of 106 Avenue and 79 Street. The collision transpired as the westbound ETS bus was executing a southbound turn onto 79 Street. At the same time, an eastbound motorcycle was reportedly traveling “at a high rate of speed” along 106 Avenue, resulting in a collision between the motorcycle and the side of the bus, as stated by EPS.

Regrettably, the impact proved fatal for the 40-year-old motorcyclist, who succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Upon arrival, police officers covered the body with a blanket and subsequently erected a large black screen to shield the area from public view. Eyewitnesses and passersby observed the aftermath of the collision, with a motorcycle lying on its side on a grass median nearby. Additionally, a helmet and a shoe belonging to the rider were seen on the road, serving as poignant reminders of the tragic event.

Following the incident, the intersection and surrounding area were temporarily closed to facilitate the police investigation and clean-up efforts. It was not until 9 p.m. that the area was reopened to normal traffic. The EPS has taken charge of the investigation into the crash and is appealing to witnesses or individuals possessing dashcam footage to come forward with any information they may have.
