Brian Benoit Obituary, Death – Southbridge mourns the loss of Brian P. Benoit, a beloved member of the community who passed away on Monday, July 3rd, at the age of 47. Brian’s departure came after a courageous battle with illness, during which he displayed unwavering strength and determination. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Faith Ann Benoit, who resides in Southbridge, and his stepdaughter, Hannah Nale, who also calls Southbridge home. Brian is survived by his caring sister, Penny LaBarge, and her husband Russell, as well as his three brothers: Francis Benoit and his fiancé Layne Gobinski, Jeffery Benoit and his husband Christopher Grigaitis, and Todd Benoit and his fiancé Eyvette Gomes, all of whom reside in Southbridge. Additionally, he is survived by his former longtime companion and the mother of his daughter, April Nale. Brian’s family circle also includes his step-grandson, Adrian Breckterfield, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Although Brian was predeceased by his two brothers, Mark Benoit and Alfred “Tony” Benoit, as well as his nephew Russell LaBarge Jr., their memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved them. Brian himself was born in Southbridge to the late Francis A. and Kathleen M. (Trifone) Benoit, and his roots in the community ran deep.
Professionally, Brian was the proud owner and operator of F. Benoit Concrete, a company specializing in concrete finishing work. Later on, he found fulfillment working in landscaping with Splaine Brothers Landscaping. Brian possessed a passion for fishing and found solace in the tranquility of the water. In addition to his love for fishing, he was an ardent supporter of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and Boston Celtics. He reveled in the camaraderie of cheering on his favorite sports teams and shared his enthusiasm with those around him.
Beyond his personal interests, Brian found immense joy in spending quality time with his nieces and nephews. Their laughter and presence brought him immeasurable happiness, and he treasured the moments they shared. Above all, Brian’s greatest source of joy and pride was his daughter, Faith Ann. Their bond was unbreakable, and he delighted in every opportunity to create lasting memories with her.
The funeral service to honor and celebrate Brian’s life will be held on Saturday, July 15th, at 11:00 am at the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, located at 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in West Ridge Cemetery in Charlton. Prior to the service, calling hours will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home, providing friends and loved ones with an opportunity to pay their respects.
