Caleb Easterling car accident Central Louisiana, man has died in fatal crash

Caleb Easterling car accident, Death – Caleb H. Easterling, who was 86 years old and lived in Eldorado at 2370 U.S. 40 West, passed away on December 19 at the Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. He was the son of Curtis Easterling and Mary (Sexton) Easterling and was born on June 8th, 1907 in Morgan County, Kentucky. Since 1939, he had made his home in Preble County, and he had worked as a millwright for Dana Corporation until his retirement.

He was a member of the West Manchester United Church of Christ and the Eldorado Lions Club, in addition to being the founder of Scout Troop No. 64 in Eldorado and serving as its scoutmaster for a period of sixteen years. He served as the chairman of the precinct and was recently recognized by Secretary of State Robert Taft for his flawless voting record spanning half a century. On February 12, 1984, his wife Ella (Fultz) Easterling passed away, and he was predeceased by one brother, Winfred Wells. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Two of his sons, Randall Easterling of Vandalia and Larry Easterling of Eldorado, are among his surviving family members. He also leaves behind two grandsons, Rudie Easterling and Dr. Gary Easterling; two great-grandchildren, Amanda Easterling and Anastasla Easterling; one sister, Alma Roe of Nepturne, New Jersey; and one brother, Leon Wells of Florida.

Funeral services will be held at the Girton-Schmidt-Boucher Funeral Home in Eaton on Thursday, December 23, at 2:00 p.m., and the Reverend David A. Ireton will preside over the ceremony. Eaton’s Mound Hill Union Cemetery will serve as the location for the burial. On Wednesday, December 22, the family will host a visitation at the funeral home from four to seven in the evening.
