Carol Fenimore Obituary, Death – Carol Fenimore, a beloved resident of Rushville, tragically passed away on July 8, 2023, at the age of 60. She was born on January 12, 1963, in Noblesville, Indiana, to her late parents, James and Barbara J. (Patrick) Massie. Carol’s life was marked by her remarkable achievements and her dedication to education and the sciences. After graduating from Rushville Consolidated High School in 1981, Carol pursued her passion for Animal Science at Purdue University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in 1985. Her thirst for knowledge and desire to make a greater impact led her to Indiana University, where she studied for her Masters of Science.
On July 2, 1988, Carol married Dr. Craig Fenimore, and they enjoyed a loving and supportive partnership throughout their lives. Craig survives her and cherishes the memories they created together. Carol’s teaching career spanned several years and left an indelible mark on the students she guided. She initially taught at Morristown High School for five years before joining Rushville Consolidated High School in 2001. At RCHS, she dedicated herself to teaching Biology Freshman classes until 2020. Carol’s passion for science and her dedication to education led her to become the science department chairperson at RCHS,
where she made a significant impact on the academic community. Additionally, she served as the sponsor for the senior class, showing her commitment to the holistic development of her students. Outside of her professional life, Carol found immense joy in spending time with her family and beloved pets. She treasured every moment she shared with her daughters, Chelsea Fenimore and Kera Fenimore, both residents of Franklin, Indiana. Carol’s love extended to her siblings as well, including her brother Dennis K. Massie of West Lafayette, Indiana, and her sister Denise “DeeDee” (Don) Watkins of Galveston, Indiana.
The loss of Carol is deeply felt by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Barbara, and her sister-in-law, Sheri Massie. Carol’s memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. Services to honor Carol Fenimore’s life are currently pending, and further details will be provided soon. Her presence and contributions will be sorely missed by the Rushville community and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
