Dan Frenette Death, Obituary – The family mourns Daniel Laurin Frenette, late of RM of Shellbrook, SK. He died at 50 on May 3, 2022. In Prince Albert, SK, Jeanette (née Pelletier) and Gilles Frenette had Daniel on May 19, 1971. He worked in Kindersley, SK, Swift Current, SK, and Tisdale, SK. He met Crystal in the bowling alley. They returned to Prince Albert, SK to be near his mother in the nursing home.
They married after several riding and kayaking trips around La Ronge. Daniel had a south-facing office and the freedom to drive in northern Saskatchewan. He worked on enormous industrial gas meters or visited farms to pet the dog and start the grain dryer. Dan celebrated 25 years with Sask Energy.
Daniel and Crystal relocated to Round Lake in 2003 and joined the beautiful Wild Rose community. Coral, born in 2007, joined their biking and kayaking trips. Daniel was recognized for visiting and helping his community. He loved to problem solve, whether it was using his chain saw to chop back trees for a neighbor after a plow wind, figuring out how to fix a furnace, or improvising tent modifications during a fishing trip monsoon.
Dan was always reliable in a crisis. With his brother and friends, Dan kiteboarded, cross-country skied, biked, kayaked, and fished. Dan is survived by his wife Crystal, his daughter Coral, his brother Darryl (Cindy) Frenette, his sister Lee-Anne (Eddie) Hewitt, his father-in-law Larry Hendren, his sister-in-law Bevera (Tim) Allan his nieces Brynn (Jesse), Jasmine, Kirstin, Molly (Kenny), & Breah, and his nephews Brant, Braelyn (Azia), Logan (Charissa), & Samuel.
Daniel’s mother Joan Hendren, father Gilles Frenette, and brother-in-law Corey Hendren predeceased him. Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 2 PM, Wild Rose School will host a Remembrance Service. Our website, www.mackenziechapel.ca, accepts condolences.
