Daniel Larocque Obituary, Death – I’m sorry to hear about the passing of Retired Deputy Superintendent Daniel R. Larocque. Deputy Larocque served with the Lowell Police Department for 27 years and was highly respected within the department. He began his career in 1994 and had previously served as a Tyngsborough Police Officer for five years.

Throughout his career, Deputy Larocque received numerous commendations and citations for his work. He was known as a mentor to many officers and supervisors, leaving a lasting impact on the department. In 2019, he was appointed as Deputy Superintendent of Police and retired in 2021. After retiring from the Lowell Police Department, he served as the Assistant Director of Public Safety for the Endicott College Department of Public Safety and Police.

Deputy Superintendent Larocque was dedicated to his education and professional development. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement from Western New England College in 1998 and a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration from the same institution in 1999. He also obtained a certificate in Public Safety Leadership and Management from Suffolk University in 2009 and completed the Alcoholism/Substance Abuse Counseling Program at Middlesex Community College in 2016. Additionally, he participated in the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police and received the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association Trilogy Award in 2015.

The Lowell Police Department is deeply saddened by Deputy Larocque’s passing and asks for thoughts and prayers for his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
