David D. Thompson Death, Obituary – David D. Thompson, age 84, of Excelsior, Minnesota, previously of Apple Valley and Eagan, passed away on May 15, 2023, at his home in Excelsior, Minnesota, surrounded by his family after leading a long and fruitful life. David D. Thompson was a native of Apple Valley and Eagan. His life was rich in experience and accomplishments. His departure was hastened by the passing of both of his parents, Donald Thompson and Luella Thompson.
Luella was his mother, and Donald was his father. Survived by his wife of 62 years, Bonnie; daughters Tracy (Tim) Peterson, Tammy (Tim) Hendricks, and Trina (Mark) Kettelhut; grandchildren: Tyler, Gabriel, Jacob Lu, Madeline, Grace, Colton (Abby), Paige, and Maren; great granddaughter, Caroline; sister Jane (Ken) Morgan; brother Dick (Jeanne) Thompson; as well as other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents. His parents passed away before he did in this life. Before he was born, both of his parents had passed away. Visitation for memorial purposes will take place from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on May 24, 2023, prior to the Christian burial ceremony that will take place at Church of the Risen Saviour (1501 CR 42) in Burnsville.
The Christian burial service will take place on that same day. This will take place before the funeral service in the Christian religion. According to the wishes of the deceased person’s family, memorial contributions should be made to the Park Nicollet Foundation, which is an organization that offers financial support for hospice care.
