David Johnson Obituary, Fatal Crash – I’m sorry to hear about the tragic accident that occurred on I-75 South in Campbell County, Tennessee. According to officials from the Tennessee Department of Transportation, a multi-vehicle crash took place on Thursday night, resulting in the closure of I-75 South. However, as of 10:00 a.m. on Friday, all lanes were reopened.
The crash involved a 2014 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by 45-year-old David Johnson. Based on a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol obtained by WVLT News, it appears that traffic on the interstate was slowing down, and Johnson was unable to stop his vehicle in time. As a result, the tractor-trailer collided with a guardrail, reentered the roadway, and struck a Honda Pilot. The truck then hit additional guardrails before ultimately going over an embankment.
Tragically, David Johnson lost his life in the accident. However, the two passengers inside the Honda Pilot were fortunate enough to escape without any injuries.
The reopening of I-75 South signifies that authorities have completed their investigation, cleared the wreckage, and ensured the safety of the roadway for public use. It is always distressing to hear about accidents that result in loss of life and potential injuries. It serves as a reminder of the importance of safe driving practices and maintaining caution on the roads to prevent such incidents from occurring.
