Evan Brunelle Obituary, Death – Evan J. Brunelle, a beloved member of the South Hadley community, passed away on Monday at the age of 28. Born in Springfield and a lifelong resident of South Hadley, Evan was a dedicated employee at the family-owned business, Brunelle’s Marina. His untimely departure has left a void in the lives of his loved ones, who are now mourning the loss of a cherished son, father, brother, and friend.

Evan leaves behind his adored children, Owen and Noah Brunelle, who were the lights of his life. His parents, Kathryn and Luke Brunelle Jr., have been left devastated by the passing of their beloved son. Evan’s grandparents, Dorothy Brunelle of Holyoke and Luke Sr. and Josie Brunelle of South Hadley, are also grieving the loss of their grandson.

In addition to his immediate family, Evan is survived by his sisters, Madeleine Brunelle of South Hadley and Tiffany Brunelle-Demers, along with his sister-in-law Candice Brunelle-Demers, both of Holyoke. He also leaves behind numerous cousins and dear friends who have been profoundly impacted by his departure.

During his time in high school, Evan actively participated in football and lacrosse, showcasing his athleticism and team spirit. In his leisure time, he found joy in various outdoor activities such as fishing, boating, hunting, cooking, gardening, and hiking. Evan shared many memorable moments with his sisters and their canine companions, creating lasting memories of adventures in nature. He also had a passion for the excitement and thrill of the demolition derby.

Evan’s warm and compassionate heart endeared him to everyone he encountered. Known for his kindness and affable nature, he touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His infectious spirit and genuine personality made him a beloved figure within the community.

To pay their respects and offer condolences, friends and family are invited to attend the calling hours at the Curran-O’Brien Funeral Home, located at 33 Lamb St., South Hadley, on Thursday from 4-7 pm. The funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 11 am at St. Patrick’s Church, where loved ones will gather to honor Evan’s memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Owen and Noah’s Scholarship Fund. Contributions can be made by writing a check payable to MFS Service Center, c/o People’s Bank, located at 7 College St., South Hadley, MA 01075. This scholarship fund will serve as a lasting tribute to Evan’s memory, ensuring that his children are supported in their educational pursuits.
