George Grimes Obituary, Death – George Clyde Grimes, Sr., who had lived in Glen Burnie all of his life and had reached the age of 91 when he passed away on August 8, 2022. Hugh and Ruby Grimes, both of whom had passed away prior to the birth of their son George, gave birth to their child on October 23, 1930 in the city of Iuka, Mississippi. In 1969, having served in the United States Air Force for more than 21 years and rising through the ranks to the position of Master Sergeant, he decided to retire.
In addition, he had worked for both the National Security Agency and the United States Postal Service at various times. He was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed activities such as fishing and hunting. Mary R. Grimes, George’s wife, went away before her husband, following in the footsteps of both of his parents. Both of George’s parents had passed away before him. Those who are left behind following his death include his children Carolyn Sirani, George Grimes, Jr., Ruby Sank, and Helen Anderson, as well as his sisters Bonnie Throesch and Ruth Brown, as well as his three granddaughters and six great-grandchildren.
On the evening of Tuesday, August 16, 2022, the family will be present at the site of Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., which is situated at 1 2nd Avenue Southwest (at Crain Highway).
