Jeremy Hicks Obituary, Accident – Jeremy Ryan Hicks, aged 37, of Wilmington, passed away on Saturday evening, July 28, 2018. Born on August 4, 1980, in Joliet, Illinois, Jeremy was the son of Renee (George) Zouganelis and the late Norman Howard Hicks. He grew up in Wilmington, where he received his education and later worked in the family business at Community GMC of Wilmington after earning his High School Diploma. Jeremy had a passion for go-kart racing and was a dedicated fan of the Chicago Bears, White Sox, and Bulls.
In his leisure time, Jeremy enjoyed being on the water and going fishing. He found joy in playing games, drawing, listening to music, and having fun with his friends and family. He was known for his vibrant spirit and love for life.
Jeremy is survived by his parents, Renee and George Zouganelis, his two daughters, Makayla and Danika, and his sister, Alexis Zouganelis, along with her husband Trevor Delehanty. He also leaves behind his niece, Anslee, his aunt, Krista Graham, and his uncles, Pete Zouganelis and Victor Howard, all of Wilmington. Additionally, Jeremy is remembered by numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Hicks, as well as his paternal grandparents, Larry and Martha Hicks, and his maternal grandparents, Preston and Ann Graham. He was also preceded by his grandparents, George Sr. and Helen Zouganelis, and his aunt, Debra Howard.
A visitation for family and friends to pay their respects will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. The visitation and service will take place at Baskerville Funeral Home located at 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Cremation rites will follow the services.
