Jesse Polo Death, Obituary – The tragic loss of my loving stepfather, Jesse Polo, who passed away unexpectedly on July 12, 2023, has created a gaping hole in our family that will never be filled. Please pray for our mother, Rose, who has lost her husband of 45 years and is obviously in a state of complete and utter devastation as a result.
Jesse was a devoted father to Carlos, Maria, and Susanna, as well as to myself, my sister Cynthia Kennedy, and my brothers Lane and Shane Cook. He was only 72 years old and still active, working on his different woodworking projects, serving members of the community and church in many ways. Jesse was also a step father to all of us.
Jesse was active until the day he passed away. He was loved and cherished by his 18 grandchildren, as well as his many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who numbered in the dozens. Throughout his entire life, Jesse was the hardest working, most conscientious, most considerate person I’ve ever known.
He was also one of the most modest people I’ve ever met. He spent many years as a minister of the gospel, serving as a pastor, a mentor, and assisting others in the planting of churches because he had a strong desire to talk about his devotion to Jesus with everyone he came in contact with.
Funeral services were performed this morning in Macon Cemetery in Mt. Vernon and were presided over by the Reverend Tom Campbell of Grace Baptist Church, also located in Mt. Vernon. Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family has decided to establish a Memorial Fund, and once it is complete, I will add a link to this article so that others can contribute to the fund in his honor.
We are grateful that you are keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers, and we pray that God will bless you and your families.
