JoAnne Spitznagle Obituary, Funeral Notice – It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of JoAnne Spitznagle, who departed from us on July 11, 2023, in Lafayette, Indiana. We extend our condolences to her family and loved ones during this difficult time. JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents, John Edward Haan and Mary Ione Jewett Haan. She is survived by her husband, Don, and her grandchildren, Leo, Henry, Jude Spitznagle, Kate, Charlotte, Andrew Vinson, Simon, Eli, Flori, and Bram Bosslet.
Additionally, she is survived by her siblings: Janet Gick (Mike) of Lafayette, John “Jack” Haan (Janice) of Lafayette, Joyce Weintraut (Steve) of Lafayette, Jeffrey “Jeff” Haan (Mary Ann) of Lafayette, Jerome “Jerry” Haan (Kim) of Mulberry, and James “Pat” Haan (Traci) of West Lafayette. Her step-mother, Theresa Hatke Haan, also mourns her loss. JoAnne also leaves behind numerous loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 17th, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Soller-Baker Funeral Homes & Crematory, Lafayette Chapel, located at 400 Twyckenham Blvd, Lafayette, IN 47909. A mass in remembrance of JoAnne’s life will take place on Tuesday, July 18th, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, situated at 318 N 9th St Rd, Lafayette, IN 47905.
In honor of JoAnne’s memory, the family kindly requests that, instead of flowers, donations be made to four organizations that held significant importance to her. These organizations are:

3. Central Catholic High School: Donations can be made through their website at https://www.lcss.org. JoAnne’s advocacy for education and her belief in its transformative power led her to support this institution.
4. St. Boniface Catholic Church: Donations can be made through their website at https://osvhub.com. JoAnne’s strong faith and connection to her church made it a significant part of her life, and contributions to the church will honor her memory.
