Tragically, he passed away suddenly on Friday, July 7, 2023, at the young age of 47. Joey leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family.

Born to Pietro and Domenica Toniolo (nee Scalia), Joey grew up in a warm and loving household. He shared a deep bond with his parents, cherishing their guidance and support throughout his life. Joey was a loving husband to his wife Helen Toniolo (nee Qassisiya), and together they created a beautiful family. Their children, Natalya and Nicolas Toniolo, were the center of Joey’s world, and he adored them with every fiber of his being.

Joey’s siblings, Michael (Cristina) and David Toniolo, and his brother-in-law Mahfouz Qassisiya (Stephanie) were an integral part of his life. They shared a strong familial connection, offering each other unwavering support and love. Joey’s niece, Grace Qassisiya, and nephew, Gianluca Toniolo, held a special place in his heart, and he cherished the bond he shared with them.

Education played a significant role in Joey’s life, and he graduated from St. Clair College with pride. His passion for learning continued throughout his life, and he instilled the value of education in his children. Professionally, Joey worked as an Electrical Controls Engineer at Chrysler, where he excelled and took great pride in his work. His dedication and expertise made a lasting impact on his colleagues and the projects he undertook.

While Joey was a skilled engineer, his true passion lay in his faith. He had a deep love for Jesus Christ and embraced his spirituality with fervor. Joey’s faith was an integral part of his life, and he shared his devotion with others, spreading love, compassion, and understanding to everyone he encountered. He had a remarkable ability to engage in meaningful conversations, making time for anyone in need.

In the face of this tragic loss, the Toniolo family is experiencing profound grief and the challenges that come with such a sudden departure. Joey’s untimely passing has left a void that cannot be filled, leaving his loved ones grappling with immense sadness and uncertainty.

In light of these circumstances, the family humbly requests your support to alleviate the financial burden they now face, especially in caring for Joey’s children. Joey was a devoted father who strived to provide a comfortable life for his family despite the difficulties they encountered. Your generosity can help ensure that his children, particularly Nicolas, who faces significant medical procedures to address his physical issues, receive the care and support they need.

The funds raised through the Support Fund for the Children of Joseph Toniolo will be utilized to address various essential needs. Firstly, medical and therapeutic expenses are a top priority. Nicolas’s condition requires extensive procedures, therapy sessions, assistive devices, and specialized equipment. By contributing to the fund, you directly contribute to covering these crucial expenses, enabling Nicolas to receive the care and rehabilitation necessary for his well-being.

Education and development were paramount to Joey, and the family wishes to continue his vision. Donations will be used to provide educational resources and opportunities for Natalya and Nicolas, fostering their intellectual and personal growth. By investing in their education, we honor Joey’s belief in the transformative power of learning.

The loss of their father not only affects Joey’s children emotionally but also creates financial instability. To secure a stable future for Nicolas, the family intends to establish a trust or savings account using the funds raised. This account will ensure that his long-term needs are met, providing financial security for his well-being.

Caring for a handicapped child requires tremendous physical and emotional stamina. To support Joey’s family in their caregiving journey, funds will be allocated towards respite services and support programs. These services will not only help care for Nicolas but also ensure that his older sister Natalya and his mother Helen receive the support they need during this challenging time.

In honoring Joey’s memory, your contribution to the Support Fund for the Children of Joseph Toniolo will make a significant difference in the lives of his family. By easing their financial burdens, you provide them with the opportunity to heal, grow, and carry on Joey’s legacy of love and compassion.
