John Gormley Obituary, of West Hartford John Gormley Has Sadly Died

John Gormley Obituary, Death – The news of John Gormley’s passing throughout the night has left the club in a state of mourning. The current chairwoman of the ABC and a former head of the Provincial Council was a devoted volunteer who served gaelic games in his home county of Hertfordshire and farther afield across the nation. On July 11, 2021, John P. (Jack) Gormley III, 75, of West Hartford, Connecticut, died away in a calm and serene manner with his devoted family by his side. He was a loving spouse, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to everyone he met.

At the age of 17, Jack enlisted in the United States Navy after graduating from Wethersfield High School. Later in his career, Jack worked in sales for Charles Chips, Eagle Snacks, and Wise after beginning his career in the banking profession. Because of his jobs, he was able to make acquaintances in every location he lived in. Jack was the life of the party, a storyteller, and was always up for a game of cards, darts, or just hanging out at the Elks Club; but, spending time with his beloved family and friends was the one thing that brought him the most joy in life.

Swimming with the other children at Lake Hayward and Cape Cod was Jack’s favorite thing to do in his spare time. He is survived by the woman who was the love of his life and his wife of 52 years, Joyce (Pellerin) Gormley, as well as his son John Gormley of West Hartford and his daughter Dawn Schroeder and her husband Eric of Vermont. Jack was the proudest grandpa and popa in the world, and he attended every single game and activity that his grandchildren, Ella, Isaac, Hayden, and Winnie, participated in.

His sisters Elizabeth Hoyt and Patricia Lozinski, as well as Patricia’s husband James, his brother-in-law Bill Pellerin and sister-in-law Fran Pellerin, as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins, and an incredible number of friends, will miss him very much. At the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, located at 34 Beaver Road in Wethersfield, friends and family will be able to pay their respects on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 9:00 to 11:00 am. At eleven in the morning, there will be a celebration of Jack’s life that will take place at the funeral home.
