José Almonte Obituary, Worker shot at Philly store was loving husband, father

José Almonte Obituary, Death – On Thursday, a person working at a corner store in the Brewerytown district of Philadelphia was fatally shot, prompting the Philadelphia Police Department to launch an investigation. It occurred in the Jefferson Food Market located on the 1500 block of North 29th Street soon after 6:30 o’clock in the evening. According to the authorities, the employee, José Alberto Almonte, 37, was shot once in the neck while he was inside the business. His family has recognized him as José Alberto Almonte. According to the officers, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene of the incident.

Almonte had the roles of husband, father, and stepfather in his family. The information provided by his family suggests that he was employed at the shop for around two years. When they learned of his passing, it came as a complete shock to them. “I am completely at a loss for words at this very moment. Derek Santana, who is Almonte’s stepson, stated, “I don’t know what to tell my little brother – my two little brothers, and my sister.” According to the police, Almonte was working in the store when at least one of the armed suspects entered and began firing.

According to the investigators, it appears that Almonte was not aware that shots were about to be fired. According to Chief Inspector Scott Small of the Philadelphia the Department, “They (police officers) go inside the store and in one of the aisles they find a 37-year-old male slumped on the floor, unresponsive, with at least one gunshot wound to his neck,”Santana advised, “Just keep your family close, and just try to make peace with everybody, you know, because they could be taken away from you at any moment,” and he was right.

There is currently no information available regarding the events that led up to this shooting. There have been no arrests made, and there were no weapons found at the location of the incident. Officials have stated that they are currently reviewing surveillance footage from both inside and outside the store in an effort to obtain additional information.
