Kay Huhner Death, Obituary – On Tuesday, July 12, 2016, David William Huhn, who had lived in Appleton for his entire life and was 59 years old, passed away after a long battle with cancer. He had spent his entire life in that location. Marie (Frisbie) Huhn gave birth to her first child, a son named David, on September 14, 1956 in Appleton. This event marked the beginning of her new role as a mother. David Huhn’s father, Maurice Huhn, passed away prior to David’s birth; this event is known as David’s “predecessor.”
Dave’s early childhood was marked by the beginning of a lifelong interest in nature, which has remained undiminished throughout his adult years. This has been a fascination for him throughout his whole life. His formative years were spent in Appleton, and he received his secondary education and graduated from Appleton East High School, all of which are located in Appleton, the city in where he was born and reared.
After completing his high school education, he moved on to begin his training to become an apprentice glazier. Currently, he is working for his journeyman certification. Since then, he has worked in this industry continuously. Dave was well-known for his acerbic sense of humor, his dexterity as a craftsman, and, in the views of some people, his ability to problem-solve in a manner that was reminiscent of MacGyver. He was an active outdoorsman who enjoyed spending his time fishing, hunting, and hanging out in deer blinds.
He had a deep respect for the natural world. His love of nature was one of his greatest interests. It was a common occurrence for the two of them to go fishing together after school, and on such occasions, he would drive the family boat to Brandon’s school to pick him up so that they could fish together.
