Ken Carpenter Obituary, Ken Carpenter has passed away – Death

Ken Carpenter Obituary, Death – We’ve lost a silent titan. After suffering a stroke not too long ago, it has come to our attention with the deepest regret that Ken Carpenter has passed away as a result of the effects of this stroke. My very first boss in the world of music instruction, he was the one who hired me. 1980 was the year that I first went to work for Dad at the Hagerstown Music Center, which was located in the Valley Mall. I was just 18 years old at the time, and the fact that he trusted me enough to hire me so early on in my career as a musician continues to astound and honor me to this very day. I will be thankful to him for the rest of my life for doing that.

I followed him for about ten years, from the time he launched his own business in the Zayres Shopping Center until the time he moved back to the Valley Mall and finally to his permanent position in the area on Halfway Boulevard. During that time, he went through three different locations. After he opened his store in the Zayres Shopping Center, all of these events transpired in subsequent time periods. What a wonderful human being, he was so imaginative and tenacious, and he gave so much to the tri-state area in terms of music, education, and service. The tri-state area is comprised of the states of Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia.

What an incredible mark he will leave on history. To this day, he continues to be one of the most influential people in my life, and I have no doubt that he also plays a similar role in the lives of a huge number of other individuals. I miss his extremely dry sense of humor, the pool parties at his place, his ability to mend all the foolish trash I would inflict on my guitars, and the effort he put into becoming an entrepreneur. I also miss his ability to fix all the silly trash I would inflict on my guitars. Every one of these items jogs my memory and makes me smile. I miss him a lot. During this trying time, I want Linda Carpenter to know how much I care about her and offer my deepest condolences. RIP Ken
