Lucas Tendler Car Accident, Death – This is a fundraising that I am organizing in support of Rebecca Tendler, who is one of my closest friends. Yesterday evening, her son Lucas was involved in a terrible car accident that took his life. He was 17. Lucas was the type of guy who would offer you the shirt from his back, give you a hug anytime you wanted one, and listen to your tale with a warmth and compassion that far beyond his years. He was the kind of person who would give you the clothes off his back. He had the wisdom of a really old soul.
Although we are all saddened by his passing, the world has lost out on the opportunity to benefit from the presence of such a wonderful, loving, kind, hilarious, sensitive, brilliant, honest, and wonderfully lovely young guy who willingly brought a great deal of love and light into the darkness of the world. During this terribly difficult moment, I am making a request for financial assistance so that I may help his family get through this difficult time. The money raised from this campaign will be used to cover the costs of Lucas’s funeral, and any excess money raised will be given to his family to assist them in getting through this difficult time.
Any gift, no matter how large or how small, is greatly welcomed, and I want to express my gratitude to you in advance from the depths of my heart. I’m very sorry to learn this, since I simply cannot fathom the implications. If it means anything, I am certain that he is going to a wonderful place, and that he will live on in perpetuity, just like all of us will.
