MacKenzie Hunter Obituary, Death – The tragic news that our child passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2023 as a consequence of injuries sustained in a car accident has left us in a state of unfathomable anguish. MacKenzie “Mack” William Hunter was a spirit that was loved deeply, cared deeply for others, gave generously, and was one of a kind. He was taken from us far too soon. The 12th of April, 2005 was the day he was born.
The suddenness with which he passed away was completely unexpected, and all of us in the family are inconsolable over his passing away. Mack was ready to graduate from high school and was anxiously counting down the last few days till the ceremony to celebrate his accomplishment. After graduating from high school, he had every intention of enrolling at Columbia College and pursuing a degree in either fire science or welding. Mack was always bursting at the seams with vim and vigor to the point of overflowing.
Being in Mack’s presence made it physically difficult to keep a pessimistic outlook on life. He was not only brave but also helpful and generous at the same time. Because of his enthusiasm for helping other people, wrestling, welding, camping, and any activity that took place outside, we are positive that he would have been an outstanding firefighter if he had been given the opportunity. Mack was blessed with a large number of family members, friends, and acquaintances who loved him unconditionally. Among these were his mother, father, and sister, all of whom were quite concerned about him.
The only members of Mack’s immediate family to survive his death were his parents, Brian and Susan Hunter, his sister, Lilly Hunter, and his grandparents, Judy Hunter, William Larson, and Deborah Larson. His cousin, Lilly Hunter, was also able to outlive him. The celebration of Mack’s life, which will be held as a memorial service, will take place on July 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. inside Building A of the Mariposa County Fairgrounds. In lieu of sending flowers, the family asks that donations be donated to a CAL FIRE-related charity organization of your choosing. An after-service celebration will take place after the funeral and will be held in Building B.
