Marianos Shooting, 1 killed in Shooting Inside Mariano’s Store Arrest Made

Marianos Shooting Evergreen Park Shooting –  On Thursday, a shooting took place inside a Mariano’s shop in Evergreen Park, Illinois, resulting in the death of one person and the arrest of another person in what the police are calling a “domestic-related” incident. The authorities reported that they responded at the business located at 2559 W. 95th St. just after 9 a.m. in response to a report of an active shooter inside the establishment.

Chief Michael D. Saunders of the Evergreen Park Police Department stated that when police arrived at the business, they observed a number of individuals in the parking lot. After that, they walked inside, although there had been no bullets fired at that point in time. Officers led individuals out of the building’s front entrance before entering the structure themselves. Saunders stated that at the time they felt there was a gunman inside the building. “We believed at that time we did have a shooter inside the building,”

When they went to investigate, they found an employee inside a storage area who had suffered several gunshot wounds. They suspect the employee to be a woman aged 21. The woman, whose identity has not been made public pending notification of her family, was declared dead at the scene, and investigators say they were unable to locate the person who shot her. Prior to the incident, Saunders claimed that surveillance images showed the woman walking away from a man inside the business and went into a back area.

They obtained information that the woman had been involved in a previous domestic incident while she worked for Amazon in Oak Lawn, which is located close. According to Saunders, the authorities have issued a warning about the car that was mentioned in that report because the suspect in that case was her boyfriend. Saunders reported that after some time, Chicago police located the car on the city’s North Side and subsequently apprehended a “possible suspect” who was equipped with a handgun.

The community of Evergreen Park issued a warning to its inhabitants, stating that the incident was being investigated as a “domestic situation” and that “there is no threat to the public.” Just before 10 o’clock in the morning, the village sent out a tweet that read, “The area remains an active crime scene and we ask everyone to avoid the area.”
