Matthew Deangelis Obituary, Death – According to a statement released by the Pennsylvania State Police on Friday, a man was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident that took place on Route 202 in East Whiteland Township, which is located inside Chester County. It happened not too long after midnight, about near mile marker 17.2 in the direction traveling north.
State police have identified a man named Matthew DeAngelis, who is 42 years old, as the person responsible for the crime. According to the statements that were submitted to the authorities, DeAngelis was operating a 2015 GMC Sierra in the northbound lanes of Route 202 at the intersection of Mill Lane when he was involved in a head-on collision with a 2022 Volkswagen Taos that was moving in the southbound lanes of the highway. While he was driving, he reportedly went more than five miles in the incorrect direction, which is according to the state police.
The three persons who were traveling as passengers in the Volkswagen were reportedly sent to a nearby hospital with “suspected life-threatening injuries.” This information was provided by the state police. The state police have stated that DeAngelis passed away at the location where the incident occurred.
According to the state police, it is not yet clear why DeAngelis was going in the other direction of the route that was scheduled to be taken. Around five in the morning on Friday, the northbound lanes of Route 202 were made available to motorists once again after being closed for a number of hours during the course of the previous night.
