Megan Dishop Obituary, Death – In addition to her position as Laboratory Medical Director at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Megan K. Dishop, MD, is now serving as the Division Chief of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the hospital. In addition to her board certification in the subfield of pathology known as pediatric pathology, she also has board certifications in the more general subfields of anatomic and clinical pathology.
Due to the fact that she has contributed more than 80 original publications and 20 book chapters to the field of pediatric lung pathology, she is recognized as an expert consultant in this area. In addition to this, she is the author of over sixty publications that have been used in educational research programs. These publications discuss a wide range of topics that are relevant to pediatric surgical pathology. She has been honored for her teaching both on a national and an international level, and she has presented presentations on a range of stages and subjects relating to genetic and developmental lung illnesses.
Her teaching has been acknowledged both domestically and abroad. Dr. Dishop is now a member of the Board of Directors for the Society for Pediatric Pathology, as well as the Editorial boards for the Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Pediatric Allergy, Immunology, and Pulmonology. In addition, Dr. Dishop is on the editorial board for the journal Pediatric Allergy, Immunology, and Pulmonology. In addition to this, she has a long-standing interest in Quality Improvement and is recognized by the College of American Pathologists as having completed sufficient advanced training for the position of Laboratory Medical Director.
