Monty W. Stidam Death, Obituary – On Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the Southern Ohio Inpatient Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio, Monty W. “Shorty” Stidam, 66, a resident of Vanceburg, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord and Savior. He passed away there. He was enveloped in the warmth of his devoted family.

He was the son of Winston and Vivian Sparks Stidam, both of whom passed away before his birth on March 23, 1957 in Lewis County. Monty had a dual career as a farmer and a logger. He cherished the time he got to spend with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, brother Kevin, cousin Marty McCleese, and his cherished brother-in-law Lawrence Caudill.

He also had a special relationship with all of his other siblings. In addition to that, Monty enjoyed going mushroom hunting, watching tractor displays, and driving Dodge vehicles. He will be remembered with a lot of affection, and we shall miss him very much.

Memory of Monty will be treasured by his wife of 38 years, Leachie Caudill Stidam; a son, Michael White Stidam (and Sharon), of Plainwell, Michigan; two daughters, Carrie Gulley (and Brad) of Morehead and Vivan Stidam of Vanceburg; a sister, Brenda Willoughby (and Richard) of Vanceburg; three brothers, Jeff Stidam (and Angela) of Mt. Sterling, Kevin Stidam (and Nancy) There are a great number of nieces and nephews, as well as other members of his extended family and friends, who will mourn his departure.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Darrell Stidam and Allen Stidam, as well as by two of his grandkids when they were still very little. On Friday, July 14, 2023, the funeral services will be held at Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel in Morehead at one o’clock in the afternoon.

The Reverends Terry Cooper and Randy Wagoner will preside over the ceremony. After the service, burial will take place in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens located in Morehead.
Austin Hickok, Brad Gulley, Marty McCleese, Tyler McCleese, Rocky Stacy, Kevin Stidam, Ronnie Stidam, and Kevin Watkins will serve as the pallbearers during the funeral service.

Michael White Stidam, Lawrence Caudill, Brian Stidam, Tyler Butler, Eric Willoughby, and Brian Caudill will serve as honorary bearers of the casket during the funeral service.

Visitation is scheduled to take place on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals, located at 400 Fraley Drive in Morehead.
