Patricia Hale Obituary, Death – On May 15, 2023, Youngstown resident Patricia L. (Bushman) Hale, 89, died peacefully. She answered God’s invitation to get her golden angel wings and fly to paradise. Pat now lives eternally, able to walk, talk, smile, hear, laugh, and enjoy her passion for flower arranging and gardening. In God’s heaven, she glides on golden wings. She joyfully reunites with her husband, Charles Hale, DVM, her first and only love, and they fly off into forever. Pat’s career was varied. She worked as a surgical nurse at Columbus’ Northside and University Hospitals after graduating from St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in 1953.

She left her practice to raise her children. After returning to work, she worked for Youngstown’s Volunteer Service to Seniors and Winner Aviation Corporation as HR Director until 2007. For over four decades, Pat actively and dearly contributed to many area organizations, including the Mahoning Garden and Sweetbriar Garden Clubs, Millcreek Park Fellowship Gardens as a volunteer, Youngstown Garden Forum as a Member and later President, Youngstown Area Arts Council and Visiting Nurses Association as Board Members, and the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown as an Elder and Deacon, where she shared her love for nature, her fa Patricia was named 1984 YMCA Women of the Year for these achievements.

Mom, we miss you and are filled with love. We’re grateful for your motherhood, sisterhood, aunthood, and friendship. We will treasure our recollections until our eternal life. Your love lasts forever. Patricia is survived by her children Rick, Karen, and Craig (Vicki), grandson Rick Jr., sister Margaret (Bushman) Bielawski of Austintown, brother and sister-in-law Charles and Gloria (Stevens) Bushman of Belmont, MA, and nine cherished nieces and nephews and their families.

Patricia was predeceased by her loving husband, Charles Hale, DVM, her parents, Mary and Charles Bushman, her sister, Anne (Bushman) Gross, brother-in-laws John Bielawski and John Gross, and in-laws Richard S. Hale and Carolyn R. (Hood). Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 9:30 am, First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown will have a memorial service. We commemorate Pat’s lively life and personality with conservative and colorful clothes.
