Richard Pence Death, Obituary – Richard “Dick” Allen Pence, who was 79 years old at the time of his death, passed away on July 4, 2023 in the city of Greensboro, North Carolina. Dick had been ill for a very long time, and in the end, he passed away surrounded by his family. His devoted wife Chloe, as well as their children Sonya Arrington and Richard “Scott” Pence (Kristin), are among those left behind by Dick.
In addition, he leaves behind three sisters, Sheila Beighle (Ted), Pat Meade (Jim), and Jill Jenkins, as well as four granddaughters: Hannah Rose Arrington, Rebecca Arrington, Olivia Pence-Koch (Pete), and Alexa Pence. He also leaves behind three sisters. Lastly, but certainly not least, he leaves behind twenty-nine nieces and nephews who will all think fondly of him.
Bob and Thelma Pence welcomed their son Dick into the world on April 27, 1944. On the family farm in Winchester, Ohio, he and his sisters received their early education. After receiving his high school diploma from Winchester High School in 1962, Dick uprooted his life and moved to the bustling metropolis of Columbus, where he enrolled at Ohio State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture.
Because of his ambition to enhance his education, he moved his family from Ohio to Kansas so that he could pursue a master’s degree in agriculture at Kansas State University. He received this degree in 1970.
A strong sense of adventure combined with his 30-year career in the agricultural chemical sector carried him to all fifty states, as well as more than thirty countries across four continents.
After he retired, he and Chloe took pleasure in going on cruises, which they did in both ships and the other love of his life, a 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass Convertible. Because he cherished his family so much, he never missed an important family event like a graduation, wedding, or get-together, and he was known for being the life of the party.
Everyone will be saddened by the lack of Dick’s wit, intelligence, and sense of humour. On September 2, 2023, at the Creeks Edge Club House located in Richmond, Virginia, there will be a celebration held in honour of Dick.
