Spencer Nelson Death, Obituary – Spencer Nelson, age 42, of Hoopeston, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. On January 9, 1979, he was brought into the world as the only child of Gary Nelson and Eloise (Lohmeyer) Nelson. Spencer enjoyed playing a variety of sports when he was younger, including baseball, football, basketball, and his all-time favorite, soccer.
He earned his diploma from Hoopeston Area High School, where he was a member of the wrestling and soccer teams. In his later years, Spencer had a particular gift for guiding and caring for his niece and nephews, as well as for Henry and Hattie, who were the sources of his greatest pride. His family and friends will grieve over his passing in a profound way.
Spencer is survived by his parents; son Henry James Allen Nelson and daughter Hattie Michelle Grace Nelson of Bloomington, brothers Kory (Cindy Kiang) Nelson of Zionsville, IN and Adam (Alexsis) Nelson of Hoopeston; nephew Joey Volpe and niece Millie Nelson of Zionsville; nephews Aiden Gredy-Nelson, Talan Gredy-Nelson, and Abram Nelson of Hoopeston; and loving companion, Megan Hardin of Fowler, IN
There will be no memorial service held in accordance with Spencer’s desires. A memorial service honoring his life will be held at a later time by his family. In place of flowers, we would appreciate it if you would consider making a donation to your preferred charity organization.
