As an AES library aide, Wendy touched the lives of countless students and staff members with her dedication, kindness, and passion for education. Her sudden departure has left a void that will be difficult to fill.
Wendy’s journey took an unfortunate turn when she was diagnosed with cancer in November 2022. Despite her brave fight against the disease, she faced numerous challenges along the way. Sadly, on July 9, 2023, Wendy peacefully passed away due to complications related to her chemotherapy treatment. Her untimely departure has left behind her beloved 13-year-old daughter, Harlow, who now faces the difficult road ahead without her loving mother by her side.
In times like these, it is essential for us to come together as a community and support one another. The Academy ISD family is rallying behind the Knecht family during this heartbreaking time. We express our deepest condolences and send our thoughts and prayers to Harlow, Wendy’s daughter, as well as to her extended family members, Holly and Keith.
